NYPD Staffer Arrested For Choking Daughter On Mother's Day Weekend, Police Say
NYPD communications technician Chariss Cox was accused of choking her daughter and threatening to throw a TV at her on Friday.

BROWNSVILLE, BROOKLYN — An NYPD employee was thrown in jail Mother’s Day Weekend when she was accused of choking her daughter and threatening to kill her, police said.
Chariss Cox, 46, an NYPD communications technician, was arrested in Brownsville around 8:30 p.m. Friday when her daughter called 911, according to police and court records.
Cox’s daughter — who had red marks around her throat — told police her mother had choked her, threatened to kill her and threatened to throw a television at her, said police.

Cox was arraigned Saturday on charges that include strangulation, assault, criminal mischief and menacing, court records show.
She was released on her own recognizance, but with a temporary restraining order in place, and is scheduled to return to court on June 30, court records show.
