Pretend Cops Tie Up And Rob Residents In Cypress Hill Home: NYPD

Police are looking for two men who broke into a Brooklyn home, claimed to be cops, then tied up and robbed residents, police said.

CYPRESS HILLS, BROOKLYN — Two armed men who claimed to be cops burst into a Brooklyn home, tied up its residents and stole almost $1,500 in electronics, police said.

Two police impersonators forced their way into the back door of a house near Hale and Ridgewood avenues around 5 p.m. on Jan. 26, police said.

The pair tied up residents at gunpoint, then began ransacking their house, said police.

The robbers grabbed $1,450 worth of electronics and other property for speeding away in a red pickup truck, said police.

Police released surveillance photos of the suspects, whom they describe as men in their 30s, standing about 5-foot 11-inches tall, on Wednesday.

One man can be seen wearing a black vest with a yellow star — similar to that in the U.S. Army logo — and a black knit cap, the other wears a gray hooded sweat jacket and jeans.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the NYPD.
