Robbers Snatch $12K In Cash And Lottery Tickets From Bookstore, Laundromat, Police Say
Two men are wanted by police for a one-hour robbery spree in Canarsie.
CANARSIE, BROOKLYN — Armed bandits held up a Brooklyn bookstore and laundromat then ran off with about $12,000 in lottery tickets and cash, according to police.
The two suspects shoved their way into Book Card on 111-20 Flatlands Ave. around 2:40 p.m. on July 27, whipped out a gun and punched an employee in the mouth, police said.
The men grabbed $3,500 in lottery tickets, $8,000 in cash from the register and their victim’s wallet before fleeing the store, said police.

Their victim suffered a cut lip and swelling but refused medical attention, said police.
Earlier that day, at around 1:45 p.m., the two men also robbed the Choo Choo laundromat at 604 E. 102nd St. where they locked an employee in the back room and stole $500 from the register, said police.

Police describe the men as being in their early twenties, standing about five-foot-ten, weighing about 175 pounds.
One suspect wore a black hoodie, gray pants and a green baseball cap and the other wore a blue hoodie and blue pants, police said.
