Teenager Shot Dead In Canarsie Backyard, Police Say
Nineteen-year-old Luis Ortiz, of East New York, was found with a bullet wound in his chest Monday, police said.
CANARSIE, BROOKLYN — An East New York teenager was shot and killed in a Brooklyn backyard early Monday morning, police said.
Luis Ortiz, 19, was shot in the chest in an East 104th Street backyard between avenues J and K in Canarsie around 12:45 a.m., police said.
Emergency responders rushed him to Brookdale Hospital but doctors were unable to save his life, said police.
