WATCH: Man Throws Fiery Molotov Cocktail At Brooklyn Barbershop
George Thomas, 35, decided to end his fight with barbershop workers by setting their Riverdale Avenue building on fire, said FDNY.

EAST NEW YORK, BROOKLYN — A man took revenge on a Brownsville barbershop by throwing Molotov cocktails onto its roof, officials said.
George Thomas, 35, attacked El and John’s Barber Shop on Riverdale and Van Siclen avenues around 12:50 p.m. Saturday, after a fight with the shop's employees and clients, Fire Commissioner Daniel A. Nigro announced.
The Brooklyn man stormed off after the argument then built two homemade fire bombs, filling two bottles with flammable liquid, the commissioner said.

Video shows Thomas walking into the street, lighting one of his Molotov cocktails, throwing it onto the barbershop roof, and calmly walking away, according to the FDNY.
Barbershop workers and their clients rushed out of the building and were not injured in the resultant fire, which firefighters quickly extinguished, said FDNY.

“Deliberately igniting a fire on the roof of an occupied business is a reckless and dangerous act,” said Fire Commissioner Nigro in a statement. “Thanks to the quick response by our Firefighters and the outstanding investigative work by our Fire Marshals, no one was injured and a dangerous person was apprehended.”
Thomas was arrested four days later and arraigned on arson charges in Brooklyn Criminal Court Wednesday night, according to Brooklyn Defenders Services attorney Scott Hechinger.
Just arraigned 35 y/o charged w 1st degree arson. Same level charge as first degree murder. Faces life w/o parole if convicted. Allegation: Threw molotov cocktail onto rooftop, small fire quickly put out, minimal damage, no one hurt. Assuming true, would punishment fit the crime?
