🌱 Officer Charged With Harassment + Orchid Show Returns

Here are the top stories today in Buffalo:

  1. A Buffalo police officer could spend a year in jail if he's convicted of menacing and harassment. The Erie County District Attorney's Office says Keenan Redmon, 36, is facing charges related to two separate alleged incidents that occurred while Redmon was off duty. Prosecutors say Redmon grabbed a woman by the back of the neck while inside a Hertel Avenue restaurant, then, a month later, forced the woman into a bathroom in her home and brandished what appeared to be a pistol while threatening her. He is currently suspended from the Buffalo Police Department without pay. (WIVB.com - News 4)
  2. The Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens is holding its biannual Orchid Show this weekend for everyone to enjoy. The event is being held Saturday and Sunday along with the Niagara Frontier Orchid Society for the first time since March 2020. In honor of the Niagara Frontier's 100th anniversary, the Botanical Gardens will be filled with dozens of hand-picked and award-winning orchid exhibits. (WRGZ)
  3. An Erie County Board of Elections staffer who was accused of verbally harassing a female driver and using sexual language and gestures faced disciplinary action but was not terminated, as the county Personnel Department found no evidence of sexual harassment. (Buffalo News)
  4. The Buffalo Bills fell to the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday in a 9-6 loss. (WRGZ)
  5. Some unvaccinated hospital workers in Buffalo and Western New York have lost their jobs, but the percentages aren't particularly high. (Buffalo News)
