"The position of vice president for health sciences and dean of the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences is essential to helping us realize our shared vision for UB," Tripathi said in an email to the university community.
"As we continue to rise in the ranks of the nation’s public research universities, it is critical that we elevate every facet of education, research and clinical care in our health sciences schools. Our dean and vice president will be instrumental in advancing UB’s mission of excellence by continuing to enhance the impact and stature of the Jacobs School, and by leveraging the expertise of clinicians, educators and researchers across our five health sciences schools to contribute to the health and vitality of our region and beyond."
The search committee includes UB senior leadership, faculty, staff, students and alumni. Russell Reynolds Associates is assisting the search committee.
The search committee will begin its work shortly. Murphy and Nielsen will update the university community on the committee’s progress in the coming months. Information also will be available on the search website.
