Teen Thief Ripping Necklaces From Women's Throats, Cops Say
A teenager who makes small talk before robbing his victims is roaming Bushwick, police said.

BUSHWICK, BROOKLYN — Police are looking for a polite teenager who makes small talk before he rips necklaces off women’s necks and cellphones from people’s hands.
The teen first struck up a conversation with a 69-year-old woman on Moffat Street near Bushwick Avenue at about 11:50 p.m. on May 9 — then he tore her pendant chain necklace from her throat and fled, police said.
Later that day, the chatty teen started talking to a 27-year-old woman on the corner of Macdougal Street and Stone Avenue, police said. Then he grabbed her gold chain at about 6:20 p.m. and ran.

He next struck on Furman Avenue and Broadway on May 25 when he grabbed a 21-year-old woman’s cellphone at about 11 p.m., and two days later, on Chauncey Street and Broadway, he stole a 15-year-old boy’s phone and knocked the teen to the ground, police said.
Finally, the teen lunged at a 31-year-old woman on the corner of Bushwick Avenue and Aberdeen Street on May 30 at about 9 p.m., said police. He shoved the woman onto the pavement, stole her pocketbook and fled toward Ocean Hill Houses.

Police released a photo of the suspect — whom they describe as a slim teen who is about 15 years old and weighs about 125 pounds — on Tuesday.
