Michael's Shoe Repair Will Remain on Smith St
Though owner Michael Davidov was faced with a huge rent hike, he has decided to stay at 319 Smith St. for the next 10 years.
Despite a hefty rent hike, Michael's Shoe Repair Shop will be staying at in its current home at 319 Smith St., according to Pardon Me For Asking.
Back in March, owner Michael Davidov was presented with a huge rent increase from the buildings new landlord – from $2,700 to $5,000 per month, once the current lease expires in November.
At the time, Davidov was looking for a smaller space in the neighborhood, not entirely confident he could stay in Carroll Gardens at all.

PMFA reports that Davidov has signed a 10-year lease for 319 Smith St., though he did not reveal how he would be making up for the increased cost on his part.
Michael's Shoe Repair Shop was born down the block at 309 Smith St., Davidov cobbled shoes for 19 years, before moving to 319 Smith St. nine years ago.
