New Stage at The Bell House, Sidewalk Cafe Coming Too!
The Gowanus music venue debuts the new stage area today

is about to become twice as nice.
Tonight the Gowanus bar/venue will debut a second stage in the spot’s Frontier Room, with a show by legendary indie-rocker Bess Rogers.
More intimate shows will be held in the Frontier Room, with the giant main room continuing to host bigger acts. The sister venue to the Bell House, in Park Slope, falls somewhere in the middle, sizewise.

“I guess we just didn’t ever really think about the full potential of the space. And we started to think ‘Why don’t we do shows in that space? It’s a great space,’” said Heather Dunsmoor, a talent buyer for The Bell House. “We literally built the stage two days later.”
According to Dunsmoor, the stage’s sound system was just installed yesterday in a rush to get it ready to go for a spring season full of great music. The new room’s lineup hasn’t been booked yet, but Dunsmoor said it will allow the venue to do daylong music festivals as well as smaller shows, staggering bands between the front stage and the main stage.

But the new stage isn’t all the venue will have going on this spring – Dunsmoor said that with the warmer weather will come a sidewalk café and a full time food vendor.
More music and munchies – sounds good to us.
