Unlocked Doors Lead to Stolen Laptops
On Wednesday, January 10, a man returned to his home on Court Street to find his Sony Laptop, worth $1600, taken from his apartment. The apartment building was unlocked for the duration of the day, as was the front door to the victim's basement apartment, so there were no signs of forced entry.

On Thursday, January 12, a woman left her home on 2nd Place at 8 a.m. with several construction workers doing work in her home. When she returned in the evening, her door had been left open and an Apple Macbook Pro, worth $1500, had been stolen.

Thief Took Cash... And the Cash Register
On Thursday, January 12, the complainant left Sadie's Kitchen at 243 Degraw Street for 45 minutes and returned a little after midnight to discover that the right window had been broken. The cash register, worth $300, had been stolen, along with $300 cash inside the register.
Stolen Cellphone Racks Up Costly Phone Bill
A Verizon cell phone was stolen on December 6th, 2011, from PS 58 at 330 Smith Street, and was not reported until Friday, January 13. By the time the stolen phone was reported, the perpetrator had accumulated $1,819.89 in cell phone bills.
Bar Stool Thief
On Thursday, January 11, a man left his jacket on a bar stool in a bar on Smith Street. When he returned, the jacket had been stolen, along with his camera, mini tri-pod, and black gloves, totaling a value of $895.
