The Center Moriches Union Free School District held its annual Board of Education Reorganization Meeting on July 8, welcoming new trustee Richard Raupp, electing Board leadership, and swearing in student representatives for the 2026-2027 school year.
During the meeting, Mr. Raupp was sworn in as the District's newest Board of Education trustee. In addition, Dr. Dawn DiPeri will continue her service to the Board, bringing her experience and dedication to advancing the District's mission.
The Board also elected its officers for the incoming school year. Brian Tenety was elected to serve a second term as president of the Board of Education, while John Thoms was elected vice president.
The District also welcomed two student ex-officio Board members, Alexander Foster and Emily George, who were sworn in during the meeting. Throughout the school year, they will provide valuable student perspectives to the Board as it considers matters impacting the District.
“We are grateful to each member of our Board of Education for their willingness to serve our students, staff, and community,” Dr. Ricardo Soto, Superintendent of Schools, said. “We congratulate Mr. Raupp and our student ex-officio members on joining the Board and thank our returning trustees and officers for their continued leadership. Together, we are well-positioned for a successful school year.”
