Center Moriches High School Drama Students Shine in The Sound of Music
Talented Cast, Crew, and Staff Bring Timeless Musical to Life
Center Moriches High School drama students recently brought a beloved classic to life with their production of The Sound of Music. The musical follows Maria, a spirited young woman sent to care for the seven children of Captain von Trapp. Through songs, kindness, and determination, Maria brings joy back into the household while standing up for what is right as the family faces difficult choices during a changing time in history.
From soaring vocals to carefully crafted costumes and sets, the dedication of the cast, pit crew, and staff was evident in every detail. Under the guidance of Director Nancy Harkin, students worked tirelessly to capture the warmth and emotion of this timeless story, from lively musical numbers to touching family moments. The remarkable production lit up the stage of the brand-new auditorium.
“Seeing our students pour their hearts into every song and scene was truly inspiring,” said Director Nancy Harkin. “They embraced the story’s joy, humor, and heartfelt moments, and I couldn’t be prouder of their commitment and talent.”
