Child, 5, Hospitalized After Near Drowning In Pool On LI: Police

EAST MORICHES, NY — A child was hospitalized after nearly drowning in an East Moriches pool Wednesday, police said.

Suffolk County Police Seventh Squad detectives are investigating an incident in which a child was found in a pool by a family member at a residence on Woodcrest Drive in East Moriches at about 4:35 p.m., police said.

The boy was transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead, police said.
