Man Raising Funds For Stray Dog Who Stole His Heart
"Like a message from God, I was greeted by a very dirty, very friendly face at my back door." You'll need your tissues for this story.

SHIRLEY, NY — A Shirley man is raising funds to help the dog who stole his heart.
A GoFundMe, "Get Well, Wylie," created by Philip Boydston said one Sunday morning, he met the four-legged friend who changed his life.
"Like a message from God, I was greeted by a very dirty, very friendly face at my back door. This old girl came to me without any indication of where she came from," he wrote.

Even the chip they found in her neck was blank when checked at the Brookhaven Animal Shelter, Boydston said.
"We have named her 'Wylie' and she is an amazing soul. She walked for who knows how long to my back door to ask for help. Covered in fleas and dirt and dry blood, we cleaned her up, cut her nails, got her to eat some good food — and she is beautiful."

Boydston's only wish is to find Wylie a forever home with a loving family. "I wish I could keep her myself but sadly I am unable to," he said.
The GoFundMe was created to help with a vet visit and tests for Wylie; he cannot afford to pay for X rays and other needs because he already has a dog, he said.
"I also need help spreading the word to not only find her new fur-ever home, but also find the less than caring place our fallen angel came from," he said.
"I don't quite know what I will be doing for the people who donate, just yet, but I want to make something in honor of Wylie for you and make sure everybody stays updated on her situation until she leaves my care," he wrote.
