Man Stole Money From Church Donation Box: Cops

CENTER MORICHES, NY — The search is on for a man who stole money from a church donation box, police said.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Seventh Precinct crime section officers are asking for the public’s help to identify and find the man who stole $200 from a donation box at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, located at 25 Ocean Ave. in Center Moriches, on June 9 at 1:45 p.m., police said.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about the incident can contact Suffolk County Crime Stoppers to submit an anonymous tip by calling 1-800-220-TIPS, texting “SCPD” and a message to “CRIMES” (274637) or emailing www.tipsubmit.com.
