William Floyd Middle School To Perform 'Guys And Dolls Jr.'
Performances are set for May 6-7.

OCEAN Arts is thrilled to announce the final show of the 2021/2022 school season. Come out and support the talented students of William Floyd Middle School as they perform the beloved classic Broadway musical, Guys and Dolls Jr., for three shows beginning on Friday, May 6, through Saturday, May 7!

A rollicking comedy set in Times Square in New York City during the depression era, this show features some of the best-known songs and most hilarious characters in Broadway history. Audiences will certainly be singing along to numbers like “Luck Be a Lady” and “Sit Down You’re Rocking the Boat.”
Guys and Dolls Jr. is an OCEAN Arts production, in partnership with the William Floyd School District, with support from the Community Library Friends of the Arts, Inc. The show is produced and costumed by Jessica Martin. “This is the first show I’ve produced as a board member, and it’s been a wonderful experience so far,” she said. “The administration and building staff have been great, and the kids are just an amazing bunch, it’s been a joy to work with them.”

Brendan Noble is directing his first show for OCEAN Arts, with long time OA team member Mike Drozd handling music directing and choreography. “We are excited to work with Brendan for the first time,” said OCEAN Arts artistic director Kyle Imperatore. “Brendan and Mike are both working performing arts professionals, and that real-world experience brings something really special to the students.” Noble most recently appeared in Jesus Christ Superstar as well as a special anniversary production of Man of La Mancha at CM Performing Arts Center. Drozd most recently appeared in Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night in Greenport and in The Drowsy Chaperone at the North Fork Community Theater.
“It’s so valuable for the kids to work with people who have so many different skills and takes on so many roles in theater, on and off stage,” said Imperatore.
Guys and Dolls Jr. will be presented at William Floyd Middle School on Friday, May 6 at 7 pm and Saturday, May 7 at 1 pm and 7 pm. Tickets are $15 for the general public, $10 for all WF students (must be prepared to show ID) and children. Tickets can be purchased at the door or in advance in the Teen department of the Community Library, through Thursday, May 5 between the hours of 12 pm and 7 pm. All seating will be general admission.
