The week will include cannabis education and daily in-store brand pop-ups, along with a "Community Corner" intended to highlight neighborhood businesses, organizations and events.

Opening-week programming will culminate Saturday, Aug. 29, with a Central Park cleanup from 10 a.m. to noon. Hibernica is organizing the cleanup alongside cannabis brands Fernway and Wyld and said the event will kick off a series of monthly community programs.

The Harlem shop is Hibernica's second location.

Its first dispensary opened in Pelham Bay in the Bronx, where the company says it has spent the past two years supporting local food pantries and hosting wellness and cannabis education programs.

Jonathan Guerrero, general manager at Hibernica and a Harlem native, said the company hopes to make information about the state's legal cannabis market more accessible to residents.

"As a Harlem native, I know how taboo cannabis can be in this community, so it's been even more special to see our neighbors start to embrace us and get more familiar with safe, lab-tested New York products," Guerrero said. "I am really looking forward to keeping this momentum going and continuing to educate the neighborhood."

Hibernica said it plans to continue hosting community events at the 110th Street location and use the shop's Community Corner to spotlight local businesses and neighborhood happenings.

The Central Park cleanup is scheduled for 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Aug. 29.
