Man Charged With Murder After Woman Found Dead In Central Park

CENTRAL PARK, NY — Police have arrested and charged a man after a 63-year-old woman was found dead inside a Central Park gazebo, New York City Police Department officials said Monday.

Jonathan Robles, 36, was arrested at 9 p.m. on Sunday night in Central Park and charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon.

According to the NYPD, the woman was found unconscious with head trauma near East Drive and East 74th Street in a gazebo near the Central Park Boathouse on Sunday at 9:43 a.m.

Medics pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

The victim's name is being kept private until family can be properly notified.

Robles, who is from Manhattan, is expected to be arraigned on Monday.
