Bicyclist Critically Injured Evading Pedestrian in Central Park
The bicyclist was flung off his bike before landing on his head, police said.

CENTRAL PARK, NY — A man is in critical condition after crashing his bike in Central Park while swerving out of the way of a pedestrian.
The man, 67, was riding his bike in the park near East 102 Street Wednesday around 5:05 p.m. when a pedestrian walked in front of him, police said. The bicyclist swerved out of the way, but was thrown over the handlebars, according to police sources. The cyclist struck his head on the pavement when he landed, according to the report.
The man was rushed to the hospital in critical, but stable, condition, police told Patch. An NYPD investigation into the incident is still ongoing, and nobody has been arrested, police said.
