Car Overturns In Central Park: Police

Initial reports did not list any injuries, an NYPD spokesman told Patch.

CENTRAL PARK, NY — A vehicle overturned Monday morning in Central Park, but no major injuries were reported, an NYPD spokesman told Patch.

The vehicle flipped over on its topside around 11:30 a.m. while driving in the park in the vicinity of West 66th Street and Central Park West, the NYPD spokesman said. It is unknown what caused the accident.

Firefighters were still operating at the scene of the crash around 1:30 p.m. Monday, an FDNY spokesman told Patch. The spokesman could not confirm if anybody was injured. The NYPD spokesman told Patch that initial reports did not list any injuries, but only damage to the vehicle.

A passerby posted a photo of the crash scene on Twitter, saying she witnessed "a lot of emergency equipment."
