Sex Attack In Central Park: Police Investigate Claims Woman Was Raped

A 35-year-old woman told cops she was raped and robbed Monday night in Central Park.

CENTRAL PARK, NY — Police are investigating a woman's claims that she was raped and robbed in Central Park Monday night.

A 35-year-old woman told police that she was walking near East Drive and East 108th Street around 9:15 p.m. with a man she had met in the park when the man hit her in the face, raped her and stole her belongings, an NYPD spokesman told Patch. The woman became uncooperative with police during the investigation, an NYPD spokesman said.

Investigators are looking into the reported rape and are trying to find surveillance video of the area, an NYPD spokesman said.
