📰 News we're reading

• See photos of Congressman Mike Lawler press conference in Chappaqua (pressconnects.com) — Local residents can see who packed New Castle Town Hall in Chappaqua as Rep. Mike Lawler, GOP candidates Bruce Blakeman and Saritha Komatireddy, and several regional officials held a high-profile press conference there on Tuesday. Photo captions also highlight Yorktown parents Jessica and Tom Gorman, who spoke about their daughter Sheridan's killing, underscoring how statewide crime and safety debates are being brought directly into Chappaqua's town center.

• Hochul brushes off outrage over why migrants keep getting released, re-arrested under NY's bail, sanctuary laws (nypost.com) — Chappaqua was the backdrop as Gov. Kathy Hochul's bail and sanctuary policies came under sharp fire at a New Castle Courthouse press conference led by GOP gubernatorial candidate Bruce Blakeman and Rep. Mike Lawler. Speakers cited recent alleged crimes involving migrants in Ossining and Putnam County, while Hochul defended her record and said local police could still work with federal authorities, keeping this statewide debate squarely in front of Chappaqua residents.
