• Upstate New York Stewart's Closed After Car Injures Worker (wpdh.com) — The Stewart’s Shops on Church Street in the Village of Chatham is temporarily closed after an 82-year-old driver accidentally accelerated into the building, pinning a 40-year-old employee in the restroom. Chatham Fire Department and Chatham Rescue Squad freed the worker, who suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Albany Medical Center. Officials expect the store to reopen after repairs, though no timeline is set.
   

• Florida woman wrecks NY police car (midhudsonnews.com) — Residents in and around Chatham may notice increased talk about a recent police pursuit in Columbia County that ended with a Florida woman arrested after allegedly hitting a New York State Police car. Troopers say the chase began on Route 9H in Kinderhook, continued to an intersection in Livingston, and ended when the driver struck a patrol vehicle. The woman faces a felony, multiple misdemeanors, and traffic violations, and was released on an appearance ticket.
