NEW YORK CITY — ARTECHOUSE NYC is partnering with Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) on a new immersive exhibition that will take visitors deep into one of the least-explored environments on Earth.
Opening September 19 at Chelsea Market, the exhibition titled "Twilight Zone: Hidden Wonders of the Ocean" will transport visitors hundreds of feet beneath the ocean's surface into the mysterious twilight zone, using real deep-ocean footage, biological research and ocean technology to create an enveloping audiovisual experience.
Visitors will encounter rarely seen marine life, including creatures that produce their own light, while exploring the nightly migration of billions of ocean animals. The exhibition also highlights the important role deep-sea ecosystems play in ocean health and carbon movement.
Combining science, real footage, sound, interactive elements and immersive technology, the exhibition offers visitors a chance to experience a part of the planet that most people will never see firsthand.
