NEW YORK CITY — The Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) is launching "27th on Sale", a new shopping event featuring more than 2,500 new and vintage fashion pieces and hundreds of beauty products.
The two-day event will take place September 23 and 24 at FIT's John E. Reeves Great Hall. The sale will feature designer clothing, shoes, accessories and beauty products, with some new merchandise discounted by as much as 70% off retail.
Among the offerings are donated pieces from the closets of celebrities and fashion figures including:
Tracee Ellis Ross, Amanda Seyfried, Jessica Chastain, Laura Dern, Lilly Singh, Athena Calderone and Patricia Field. Designer and brand donations include merchandise from Michael Kors, Mulberry, Brandon Maxwell, Tory Burch, Theory, SKIMS, NikeSKIMS, Stuart Weitzman, Madewell and others.
Proceeds from the event will support scholarships and opportunities for FIT students and emerging creative talent. Tickets begin at $10, with free admission on the final day. Tickets go on sale through Luma on September 10.

"Our incredible celebrity supporters, industry partners, and donors have contributed some of their favorite pieces, and I can't think of anything more fashionable than their generosity in support of the next generation of creative talent. I'm especially grateful to our dedicated student volunteers who are making this event possible."
The event will also offer experiences beyond shopping. A Style Lounge will provide complimentary fashion advice and tailoring consultations, while book sales and signings will feature Mona May, costume designer of "Clueless", and Fern Mallis, creator of New York Fashion Week.
On September 24, FIT alum Michelle Feinberg, founder of New York Embroidery Studio, will provide complimentary on-site embroidery and monogramming for newly purchased items.
Shoppers and attendees should enter at 218 West 28th Street, between Seventh and Eighth avenues.
For those unable to attend in person, a selection of rare celebrity items will be available online through October 8 via Charitybuzz.
