Chelsea’s Five Below Opens Next Month: See Where

CHELSEA, NY - Looking to find tech, tees, beauty, toys and more for $5 or less?

Five Below, a Pennsylvania-based discount retailer advertising an array of merchandise for between $1 and $5, is slated to open Dec. 1 at 607 6th Ave., according to Five Below's store website.

Located at the former site of Modell's near West 18th Street, the new Five Below location is set to offer books, candy, party items, travel gadget, gaming gear, bluetooth speakers and more. You can view a full catalog here.

Earlier this year, the discount chain announced plans to open 200 new stores and convert 400 existing stores to a new Five Beyond model, enabling those locations to sell merchandise priced above $5, according to ChainStoreAge.com.

In 2022, Five Below opened 150 new stores and announced plans to increase its U.S. store potential from 2,500-plus to 3,500-plus sites the outlet reported.

"We are seeing continued strong new [store] performance, demonstrating how effective our model is with an industry-leading less than one-year payback," Five Below president and CEO Joel Anderson said on an earnings call in March, per the outlet.

There are currently five Five Below locations in Manhattan. The nearest Five Below store to Chelsea is located on Union Square at 40 E 14th St.
