Multiple Manholes Fires In Chelsea, FDNY Says
Sixty firefighters responded to the smoking manholes, FDNY said.

CHELSEA, NY — Sixty firefighters responded to multiple manhole fires with excessive smoking Tuesday morning, the FDNY said.
The Fire Department got a call about 7:30 a.m. regarding a manhole smoking at Seventh Ave. and 25th St. in Chelsea, a department spokesman said.
About 8:30 a.m., multiple manholes were smoking, the spokesman said.

No injuries have been reported.
