Zimbabwean vocal ensemble Nobuntu opens Season 13 at Concerts by the Pond with an unforgettable evening of a cappella singing, movement, rhythm and percussion.
Founded in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, Nobuntu has earned international acclaim for performances celebrating the power and beauty of the female voice. Their music draws from traditional Zimbabwean songs, Afro-jazz, gospel and the rich vocal traditions of southern Africa.
Saturday, October 3 at 7:30 PM at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Cold Spring Harbor.
Tickets: $75 adults · $60 students

Join local author and Professor Ann Helfgott for a brief reading and talk about her historical fiction novel&nbsp;The Naomi Scrolls: A Midrashic Love Story.&nbsp;Imagine that&nbsp;a momentous archeological&nbsp;find has rocked the world of biblical scholarship:&nbsp;four scrolls dating from over 3,000 years ago have been unearthed&nbsp;in the city of Bethlehem. To add to the excitement, the scrolls were authored by a woman: Naomi, the beloved mother-in-law in the Book of Ruth.&nbsp;A Q&amp;A and book signing will follow the presentation. Books will be available for purchase at the event.&nbsp;Registration is required. Open to all.
