2 Home Heating Fuel Companies Cited In Commack Safety Inspection: Police

Two of four home heating fuel delivery trucks inspected were cited for violations during a joint safety operation, police say.

COMMACK, NY — Two home heating fuel companies were cited for violations following a motor carrier safety inspection conducted in Commack on Tuesday, according to Suffolk County Police.

Police said Motor Carrier Safety Section officers, working alongside New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Police and the Suffolk County Department of Weights and Measures, inspected four home heating fuel delivery trucks as part of the operation.

During the inspections, one company was cited for broken meter seals, police said. A second company was cited for multiple safety violations, and that vehicle was placed out of service. The companies have not yet been named by police

Police said the driver of the out-of-service vehicle was found to have an expired hazardous materials endorsement.
