9 Adorable Ducklings Rescued From Commack Storm Drain
The mother duck was frantically scrambling around the drain trying to get to her babies Monday morning.

COMMACK, NY – Nine little ducklings toppled into a storm drain on Long Island Monday morning, but some teamwork reunited the babies with their mother.
The Suffolk County SPCA received a call from an employee at a Commack bank around 11 a.m. reporting that the ducklings had fallen into storm drain in the Mayfair Shopping Center on Jericho Turnpike.
The mother duck was frantically scrambling around the drain trying to get to her babies, SPCA officials said.

Suffolk County Humane Investigator Jennifer Pape, along with two Smithtown animal control officers, Cherie Stevens and Deborah Buzzard, and Steven from Smithtown Highway Department responded to the scene. They all worked together to help rescue the ducklings.
After the ducklings were reunited with their mother, they were all transported to the Nissequogue River.
