Man Wanted After Commack QuickChek Worker Assaulted, Groceries Stolen: Police

An employee was treated for non-life-threatening injuries after a January assault inside a Commack convenience store, according to police.

COMMACK, NY — Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Second Precinct Crime Section officers are asking for the public's help to identify and locate a man who assaulted a convenience store employee in Commack last month, police said.

An employee at QuickChek, 6233 Jericho Turnpike, reported that he was assaulted by a man inside the store on Jan. 5 at around 5:24 a.m., according to police. The suspect then stole assorted groceries and fled, police said.

The victim self-transported to an urgent care facility for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, according to police. Police have now released surveillance imagery of the suspect.

Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information is asked to contact Suffolk County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS or submit an anonymous tip online at www.P3Tips.com or through the P3 Tips mobile app.

All calls and messages will be kept confidential, police said.
