COMMACK, NY — Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Fourth Squad detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating 3 women connected to a theft and fraudulent credit card use investigation in Commack and Huntington, police said.
A woman was shopping at HomeGoods, located at 6 Henry St. in Commack, around 2 p.m. on March 3, when she was approached by an unknown woman who distracted her, according to police.
While the victim was distracted, a second woman stole the victim’s wallet from her handbag, police said.
A short time later, a third woman used one of the victim’s stolen credit cards at Macy’s, located at 180 Walt Whitman Road in Huntington, according to police.
Suffolk County Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest in the case.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Suffolk County Crime Stoppers anonymously by calling 1-800-220-TIPS. Tips can also be submitted through the P3 Tips mobile app, available in the App Store and Google Play, or online at P3Tips.com, police said.
All calls, text messages and emails will be kept confidential.
