• Suffolk County Police Investigating Commack Football (southshorepress.com) — Police are investigating an incident where a volunteer assistant coach allegedly threw a helmet that injured a 16-year-old Commack High School football player during practice, prompting hospital treatment and a concussion evaluation. The Commack School District says the coach was a board-appointed volunteer and is cooperating with Suffolk County police, stressing that student safety remains its priority as the investigation continues.
