Anonymous Donor Pays For Holiday Shopping Spree for Children in Need

A group of over 100 local foster and special needs children got a special holiday surprise from an anonymous donor.

COMMACK, NY - Christmas came early for a group of local foster and special needs children.

An anonymous donor recently paid for a holiday shopping spree at the Commack Toys R Us for the group of kids.

A total of 150 children from the non-profit group Family Residences and Essential Enterprises (FREE) based in Old Bethpage got the chance to buy toys and gifts from the store on 108 Veterans Memorial Highway on Thursday night.

"I'm really surprised. I wasn't expecting it at first..like every year we don't really do this," 13-year-old Connor McCall told ABC7.

The children were all given a total of $200 to spend.

"You really have made this Christmas season the merriest that these kids will remember for a very, very long time. And we truly appreciate this generosity," Anu Arnold of FREE told NBC News.
