UPDATE: Sheriff Arrests Mother for Commack Grad's Murder

LONG ISLAND, NY --

Update 9:35 p.m.: Times Union reports that Albany Sheriff's offices has arrested Tracy Zetsche, 52, and charged her with second-degree murder of her son, 22-year-old Gabriel Philby-Zetsche. 

"This was an extremely violent attack," Albany sheriff Craig Apple told Times Union. 

Gabriel Philby-Zetsche was a 2009 Commack graduate who had cerebral palsy.

 An autopsy on a Commack graduate found dead in his upstate New York apartment Monday morning revealed he was killed and his body went undiscovered for five days.

Times Union reports that Albany County Sheriff Craig Apple said the autopsy of Gabriel Philby-Zetsche, 22, revealed that he died of a stab wound to his chest and multiple skull fractures caused by blunt force trauma. Apple also told the media Philby-Zetsche was lying dead for five days before his aunt found his body.

Philby-Zetsche was a 2009 Commack High School graduate, according to his personal Facebook page.

Gabriel Philby-Zetsche, 22, was found covered in blood on the floor of his bedroom in the Westerlo, New York house on Monday morning, according to Times Union.

Philby-Zetsche's body was discovered by his aunt around 8:30 a.m. Monday morning when she was noticed his mother, Tracy Zetsche, 52, was on the back porch of the home looking upset, according to Times Union. Zetsche mentioned something was wrong with her son, causing the aunt to go upstairs and find Gabriel dead in a pool of blood.

Philby-Zetsche's mother and three others have been questioned by investigators. Tracy Zetsche had bruising on her arms when she was brought in for questioning, but its unclear what caused the marks, according to Times Union.

Times Union also reports Albany County Sheriff said he believes Gabriel's mother, might have been home the entire time her son was dead. He also released that investigators may have recovered items from the scene of the crime that were used to kill Gabriel.

As news of Philby-Zetsche's death has reached Long Island, as an online memorial to express their goodbyes and share memories.

However, news of Philby-Zetsche's death has been even slower to reach some of his long-distance relatives in Atlanta, Ga. and the south who called Patch after only learning of his death through Patch articles on Tuesday afternoon.
