2 Suffolk Banks Robbed Over Span Of Hours On Wednesday: PD
In both cases the robber handed a teller a note "threatening violence" and made off with some cash, police said.
COMMACK, NY — Two banks were robbed in Commack over the span of a couple of hours on Wednesday, with the robber passing a note threatening tellers with violence, Suffolk police said.
A man went inside Capital One on Jericho Turnpike at about 11:50 a.m., and then about four-and-a-half hours later at 4:35 p.m., a man went inside HSBC down the road on Jericho Turnpike, police said. In both instances, the robber handed a teller a note "threatening violence and demanding money," and when the teller gave over the cash, the robber then ran away, according to police.
Whether or not the two robberies are related is under investigation, a police spokeswoman said.

In the first robbery, the robber was described as wearing a mask, a hooded sweatshirt with the hood up, a ski cap and gloves. In the second robbery, he was wearing a gray sweatshirt with the hood up under a dark-colored jacket, a blue baseball cap and facemask, and some gloves.
