Commack High School Senior Honored as News12 Scholar-Athlete

Congratulations to Amanda McNelis!

A Commack High School senior was recently honored as a News12 Scholar-Athlete.

Amanda McNelis, a three season All-State winner in both track and gymnastics, received the honor, as well as a $1,000 scholarship on Thursday, Feb. 16. She is one of only 30 young men and women to receive this honor,

She has qualified to compete in the State Championships in pole-vaulting, hurdles, and the uneven bars (gymnastics).

In addition McNelis excels as a scholar as an IB Diploma Candidate with a GPA of over 100.
