Commack HS Students Named Coca-Cola Scholar Semifinalists
Melody Luo & Lakxshanna (Lexie) Raveendran Selected to Move to Next Round of Coca-Cola Scholar Program
COMMACK, NEW YORK — The Commack School District is pleased to congratulate Commack High School seniors Melody Luo and Lakxshanna (Lexie) Raveendran, who were named semifinalists in the 2022 Coca-Cola Scholars Program. As semifinalists, Melody and Lexie now move on to compete in the next round of the competition to become one of 150 students nationwide to receive a $20,000 college scholarship.
Melody and Lexie are among the 1,617 high school seniors chosen from a pool of over 68,000 applicants to be selected as semifinalists. Students selected were chosen based on leadership, academic achievements, and dedication to their communities. Both students will be required to complete a second application that includes additional information on school, community, volunteer, and employment activities; multiple written responses; a recommendation; a secondary school report; and a transcript. Winners will be announced in March of 2022.
In addition to receiving college scholarships, those students selected as Coca-Cola Scholars will be welcomed into a vibrant and growing family of alumni that have become a powerful force for positive change in the world. Through networking, collaborations, and friendships, the group strives to make a greater impact together.

A joint effort of Coca-Cola bottlers across the country and The Coca-Cola Company, the Coca-Cola Scholars Program is the largest corporate-sponsored, achievement-based scholarship program in the United States. With the addition of the 2022 class, the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation will have provided more than 6,600 Coke Scholars nationwide with over $78 million in scholarships over the course of 34 years.
