The Town's parks teams will begin the Flynn Memorial Park project in October. Teams will begin demolition work on the buildings, removal of electric, plumbing fixtures, asphalt, backstops and cesspools. The new ballpark will feature synthetic turf fields with a built-in drainage system, LED energy-efficient lighting for nighttime sporting events, a concession stand, pro shop and handicapped accessible bathrooms, covered bleachers, as well as protective fencing along the outfield and backstops to protect people walking from each field.

The Town is also planning on relocating and renovating the playground area, in addition to adding more parking and storage. The reconstruction will serve as an economic engine while providing the Town's youth with state-of-the-art ball fields to play and compete on.
