Commack’s Fountaingate Gardens Wins Best Retirement Community Title In 2026 Awards

COMMACK, NY — Fountaingate Gardens Life Plan Community, part of the Gurwin Healthcare System, has been named Best Retirement Community in the 2026 Best of Long Island awards.
The annual FourLeaf Best of Long Island awards highlight top businesses and services across the region, honoring organizations that deliver high-quality service while making a meaningful impact in their communities.
Located in Commack, Fountaingate Gardens opened in 2022 and offers 129 luxury apartments designed for older adults seeking an active, maintenance-free lifestyle.

Residents have access to a range of high-end amenities, including gourmet dining, a saltwater pool, putting green, pickleball courts, pub, salon and on-site theatre.
The community operates as part of Gurwin’s Life Plan model, which provides residents with priority access to a continuum of care on campus if their healthcare needs change. Through an optional Life Care contract, members can transition seamlessly between levels of care while remaining within the same community.

Gurwin Healthcare System also received multiple honors in this year’s Best of Long Island awards, including top rankings for its home care agency, skilled nursing center and rehabilitation center, along with recognition for one of its nurses as Best Nurse on Long Island.
