Commack School Budget Vote, Trustee Election Results Are In

Commack residents easily approved a 2016-17 school budget on Tuesday.

The $187.5 million budget was approved by a margin of 1,837-536. The budget is a 1.3 percent spending increase over the current year and it comes with a 0.38 percent hike in the school tax levy.

Incumbent Steve Hartman ran unopposed for his seat on the Commack Board of Education. Pamela Verity defeated Susan Hermer by a margin of 1,167-916 for the other open seat on the board.
