While no official confirmation has been made yet, it has been reported thatseveral bids have been placed to build a restaurant on LI.

COMMACK, NY - Once again rumors are swirling of a potential Cracker Barrel opening on Long Island, but this time it looks like there's a chance it might happen.
It was reported that several bids have been posted for construction of the popular restaurant on Crooked Hill Road and Sagtikos Parkway in Commack.
The Southern-comfort food chain currently has no restaurants on Long Island. The closest Cracker Barrels are located in Connecticut or New Jersey.

According to a report in Newsday, the Georgia-based Venture Construction Co., which has worked on over 300 Cracker Barrels, submitted an "invitation to bid" for electrical work in the area and the bid reads that it will be for a "new construction of a Cracker Barrel.”
In addition, another company described as a primary builder for Cracker Barrel restaurants across the U.S, Ideal Co., has also submitted an invitation to bid to do plumbing work at a Cracker Barrel on "Crooked Hill Road I-495 and Sagtikos Parkway," Newsday reports.

Cracker Barrel could not confirm to Patch if there are plans to open a Long Island restaurant.
However, Jane Shehane, a communications coordinator for Cracker Barrel, told Patch the company is "considering opportunities for new locations," but has no announcements about opening a new store in Commack.
Last week, the Town Planning Director David Flynn told Patch that while he has also heard the rumors, the office did not receive any applications from the chain to build a restaurant in Commack.
"They are probably doing their due diligence," he said.
