Crews Rescue Man Found Injured In Commack Woods

The man was hospitalized after the rescue on Tuesday night.

COMMACK, NY - A man was rescued after he was found injured in the woods in Commack on Tuesday night, according to the Commack Volunteer Ambulance Corps.

Ambulance members received a report of a man with a traumatic injury on Schuyler Drive at about 6:41 p.m.

Upon arrival, members found the man 100 feet into the woods, with non life threatening injuries.

Due to the difficult location of the man, Commack EMS requested assistance the Commack Fire Department, who provided a stokes basket.

Crews then worked to package and carry the man out of the woods to the ambulance where he was further assessed.

He was then transported to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore with non-life threatening injuries.
