GoFundMe Started To Help Family Who Lost Home In Commack Fire

The five residents of the home escaped the fire that broke out on Monday morning.

An online fundraiser was recently created for a Commack family who lost their home in a fire earlier this week.

Five residents escaped the house fire that broke out at their Astor Court home early Monday morning.

No injuries were reported but the house was extensively damaged. Everyone in the family got out of the house safely and everyone is in healthy condition.

On Tuesday, the sister-in-law of one of the residents, Roxana Juan Ruiz started a fundraiser on GoFundMe to help the family.

"People are doing as much as they can to help out and they are in need of any type of help to assist them in buying new clothes and any type of necessities they are truly in need of," she wrote on the page.

The goal of the page is to raise $10,000 for the family. In one day, the page raised more than half that amount with a total of $5,195.
