GSSC Appoint Tammy Severino as New President & CEO
Exciting Announcement Lays the Groundwork for Long Term Growth and New Vision for Socially, Emotionally and Academically Empowering Programs

Commack, NY— The Girl Scouts of Suffolk County Board of Directors is delighted to announce that former interim CEO Tammy Severino has officially been appointed as the new President & CEO of Girl Scouts of Suffolk County. Under Ms. Severino’s leadership as interim CEO, the Girl Scouts of Suffolk County saw significant growth in both membership and fundraising, culminating in one of the most successful Smith Point Light Show events in its 18-year run. As she takes on the new role, the focus will be on expanding the programs that the Girl Scouts of Suffolk County offer and finding new ways to engage and empower Girls throughout Suffolk County.
“Tammy has a rich and extensive tenure in nonprofit management, women’s empowerment, and philanthropy and has been involved in the many facets of Girl Scouting for years. “As a Girl Scout Alumna, Parent, Volunteer and former Board Member, Tammy has truly exemplified the Girl Scout spirit,” says Donna Smeland, GSSC Chair of the Board. “We are delighted that she is continuing her dedication to the Girl Scout movement in this new capacity.”
Outside of Girl Scouts, Ms. Severino’s efforts in the arenas of business and nonprofit management as President of the boutique consulting firm RPC Development have earned her many recognitions, including: two-time winner of Long Island Business News’ Top 50 Women in Business; a recipient of the 2019 Angel Award winner from the Equity First Foundation; a two-time recipient of the President’s Award from the CEO of Girl Scouts of Suffolk County; winner of the Fortune 52 Award from Long Island Press; The Top 40 Under 40 Award from Long Island Business News; and the Chairman’s Award from the Association of Fundraising Professionals of Long Island.

Ms. Severino also serves on several Boards of Directors including the Michael Magro Foundation (for the families of children battling cancer and catastrophic illness) and Silver Hearts Sanctuary (a home for abandoned, homeless senior pets). She serves as an advisor for The Morgan Center and Career Day, Inc. She has also served as an advisor for her daughter’s Girl Scout troop as they pursued their Silver Award and for the prior two years, their Bronze Award. Before her position as Interim President & CEO, Ms. Severino also served on Girl Scouts of Suffolk County’s Board of Directors.
