Gurwin Jewish Nursing & Rehabilitation Center Appoints Chief Nursing Officer
Lynette Rutherford (Brentwood) to assume new role at renowned nursing and rehabilitation facility

COMMACK, NY— The Gurwin Jewish Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is pleased to announce the appointment of Lynette Rutherford, RN, BSN, MSA, MSN to Chief Nursing Officer. Rutherford was promoted from Director of Quality Management and Regulatory Affairs, and has been part of the Nursing Administrative team at the 460-bed nursing & rehabilitation center since 1999.
“As a member of our nursing department in a number of roles for almost 20 years, Lynette has shown a genuine affinity for our residents and is a true leader. In her new position, she will oversee the implementation of resident care delivery, ensuring that we continue to meet the needs of our residents, foster an environment of collaboration among the interdisciplinary team and maintain regulatory compliance,” said Herbert H. Friedman, Executive Vice President/CEO.
Rutherford says she is pleased to assume her new role, noting there have been many changes in the long-term care nursing field since she first began. “The focus continues to evolve, and we have seen shifts toward incorporating technology and managing increasing regulations, while making resident satisfaction and staff engagement critical aspects of care delivery,” she said. “I am looking forward to working with our staff to further enhance the quality and safety of the care we provide for those we serve.”
