Huntington YMCA Hosts the 9th Annual Marcie Mazzola Memorial 5K Walk/Run

The Huntington YMCA will host the 9th Annual Marcie Mazzola Memorial 5K Walk/Run on Sunday, April 12, 2015 beginning at 8:30am. All proceeds from the race will benefit the Marcie Mazzola Foundation’s Butterfly Strokes Program, the Summer Camp Scholarship Program at Huntington YMCA, and the Family Service League’s Children’s Program.

“Being able to host this 5K walk/run is an honor and a privilege for this institution,” said Anne Brigis, President and CEO of the YMCA of Long Island. “Not only is this an opportunity to get active and be healthy, but it’s also an opportunity to contribute to some great causes, including the Summer Camp Scholarship Program, which provides financial aid to parents sending their children to the Huntington YMCA Summer Camp.”

The event is open to the general public. The entry fee for the run/walk will be $30 for adults and $20 for students. Check-in time for the race will be from 6:45am - 8:00am at the Huntington YMCA. Professional race announcer Terry Bisongo will be announcing the race. Food, beverages and a gift raffle will also be available. The winner will receive a trophy and a one year paid membership to the Huntington YMCA.
