A board member of Commack South Little League was charged with DWI after he struck a vehicle and a tree on Wednesday night near a middle school in Dix Hills, police say.

According to authorities, Steven Chiappetta, 41, of Dix Hills, was traveling westbound on Pickering Place, located near Commack Middle School, in a 2009 Mercedes when his vehicle struck a parked, unattended 2012 Volkswagen and a tree at 5:19 p.m.
He was arrested and charged with DWI.
