In reality, Dias says he performed CPR for up to about 13 to 14 minutes before paramedics arrived.
Dias says in his opinion, it appeared the Scinicariello was suffering was what appeared to be a heart attack and that she was unable to breathe.
This was certainly not his first time performing CPR. Dias learned CPR during his time in the U.S. military where he worked in the medivac unit.
He once performed CPR on a person on the Northern State Parkway after a crash.
In his native country of Portugal, Dias was called the 'savior' after saving the life of a young man.
"I thought of him while performing CPR on the woman," he said. "It was my motivation to continue.
Scinicariello is currently recovering in the hospital.
"I didn't do it for the accolade or the recognition," Dias siad. "I did it because I believe in being a good human being by doing some good for other human beings."
